COUNCIL OF AFRICAN AMERICAN PARENTS (CAAP)
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD PROGRAM

PURPOSE:
To recognize outstanding high school seniors attending schools or residing in neighborhoods which CAAP serves, who have achieved success through academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, made significant contributions in the area of community service, or any combination thereof.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Successful candidates must be a Black/African American graduating high school senior affiliated with CAAP through programming and/or volunteerism and possess a minimum GPA of 2.50. He or she must exemplify CAAP’s educational, social, and cultural values through participation and/or achievement in related activities. Candidates must be planning to further their education, training and development at an accredited institution of higher learning, including community college, vocational or trade school, college, or university.

APPLICATION PROCESS:
The CAAP Scholarship Award Program is a rigorous and competitive program. Please keep this in mind when filling out application materials. Applicants must submit a completed application form and ALL requested information by: FRIDAY, May 24, 2024 (No Exceptions!)

Application Due Date: Friday, May 24, 2024 (by 11:59 pm)

NO EXCEPTIONS! All late or incomplete packages will be immediately removed from scholarship consideration and the scholarship committee will not contact you for missing information. Please check and double check your application for accuracy and completion. All components of the package must be received TOGETHER. Do not submit the application in parts.

DO NOT FORGET TO INCLUDE: 1) Proof of Acceptance to the college, university, community college, vocational, or trade school, you’ve decided to attend, and 2) Unofficial or Official Transcripts from your Current High School.

SCHOLARSHIP REDEMPTION: Any CAAP scholars awarded a scholarship MUST provide the required information to receive their scholarship award(s). Scholarship redemption is not automatic. Again, CAAP scholarship recipients MUST provide the required information below to receive scholarship award/monies. The requirements are as follows:

1) Submit Proof of Registration to college, university, community college, vocational, or trade school, which should also include a copy of:

• Online or school supplied receipt or confirmation of paid registration tuition and/or fees. (name of college must be reflected on documentation)

• Fall course enrollment with accompanied payment (name of college must be reflected on documentation)

• Cancelled check showing paid registration tuition and/or fees.

All of the above should be received no later than October 31, 2024. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Please send all of the required scholarship redemption documentation (in 1 package) to:
